ACTIVITY: DISCOVERING BBC HOMEPAGE (4º ESO)

 Hi!! Today we're going to talk about media.

As you know, BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) is a UK- based public – service broadcaster. It’s the world’s oldest national broadcasting organization. To find more general information about BBC you can visit its Wikipedia page here.

EXERCISE AND INSTRUCTIONS:

1º You have to visit the official webpage of BBC here. There, you can take a look of what offers this website.

2º You have to click on News Section here. There, you have to choose a pair of news that you find interesting.

3º Then, you have to read it carefully. Doing a comprehensive reading. 

4º Make a summary of the news. You have to write the summary in a Word Document.  Times New Roman 12 .Double space. Minimum: 110 words. Maximum: 150. Don’t forget to write down the link of your news in your document.

GAME: SCATTERGORIES (2º ESO Agrupamento)

Hi!! Today, we're going to play a game called: Scattergories. This game is very useful to improve our vocabulary.

How to play?

INSTRUCTIONS:

1º You have to download the word document which is in your right side: "Game: Scattergories 2º ESO". You have to click on "Click here!".

2º There is a board with the following categories: Jobs - Food- Transport-Animals- Clothes- Parts the body- Verbs- Adjectives- Country- Tv Programme. Then in the left side, there is a list of letters.

3º You have to write a word in each category. Each word has to start with the same letter which is chosen.

4º You only have two minutes to complete the row and you CANNOT use any dicctionary.

5º Once the time finishes, we have to start a round table to know our scores. 

Scores:

-A correct word, you will get 10 points.
-A wrong word, you will get 0 points.
-A repeated word, you will get 5 points.

In our Unit 6, Travel Tales, we were studying vocabulary related to trips and means of transport.
To check this vocabulary, you can visit this website.
In this website, there are a lot exercises to check vocabulary which is divided into different topics.
This time, we are going to check the following topics:  VIAJES - TRANSPORTE TIERRA- TRANSPORTE AIRE - TRANSPORTE MAR.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1º You have to click on each topic.
2º You will see pictures related to the vocabulary. It offers many possibilities but you only have to choose the right word.
3º When you finish, you must click on "soluciones" to check your right or wrong answers.
4º Finally, you must write down your wrong answers.

Hi guys! How are you? As I have already told you in class, I will upload a music video of an English song every month. So, our song of February is... The Words by Christina Perri.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1º Watch the music video and listen to the song without lyrics.
2º Listen to the song again and you can find the lyrics in this page.
3º Write down the vocabulary that you don't know.
4º Look for information about this singer. Example: Where is she from? How many records has she got? Did you know her? What was her greatest success? Why is she being so succesful?...
